Jose Raul Capablanca, of Cuba, was the 3rd World Chess Champion. He was considered to be a true Chess genius, a natural player that spent very little time preparing for his tournament appearances. Throughout his entire Chess career, he suffered fewer than 50 losses. For a period of 8 years, he didn't lose a single game, which includes his 14-game World Championship match with Lasker . In 1927, he lost his World Champion title to his main rival Alexander Alekhine of Russia.
